If fascism is left wing, why during the Spanish Civil war did the conservatives all side with Franco?
Franco was a fascist. The Spanish Civil war was Franco’s fascists and conservatives fighting against communists, anarchists and other leftist forces.
Cons claim fascism is left wing, so why did this happen?
Facism has never been left wing, the right who claim it is, must either do so through ignorance or their belief that to distance themselves from it justifies lying.
Fascism was originally founded by Italian national syndicalists in World War I who combined left-wing and right-wing political views, but it gravitated to the political right in the early 1920s. Scholars generally consider fascism to be on the far right of the conventional left-right political spectrum
Fascism advocates the creation of a single-party state. Fascists oppose liberalism and reject and resist the autonomy of cultural or ethnic groups who are not considered part of the fascists’ nation and who refuse to assimilate or are unable to be assimilated. Fascist governments forbid and suppress opposition to the fascist state and the fascist movement. They identify violence and war as actions that create national regeneration, spirit and vitality.
They believe that economic classes are not capable of properly governing a nation, and that a merit-based elite of experienced military persons must rule through regimenting a nation’s forces of production and securing the nation’s independence.
Hardly a description of left wing policies and ideals.
It was the Communist parties in Europe who orginally recruited members to the International Brigade to fight against Franco in Spain. The international volunteers were mainly socialists, communists, or under communist authority, half of the International Bridgadists came from Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy or other countries, such as Hungary, which had authoritarian right-wing governments at the time. These men could not safely return home and parts of them were instead given honorary Spanish citizenship and integrated in to Spanish units of the Popular Army.
Facism has nothing to do with left wing politics, it is to the extreme of right wing politics in the same way communism and annarchism is the extreme of the left wing.

Green Wing Macaw
Macaw is a large tropical American parrot with a long tail harsh voice and brilliant plumage. Macaws are really beautiful all of there kind but I’ll focus and give consideration to one kind of macaws. Green wing macaw is beautiful giant bird that originates from South America. It come from the genus ara. Its scientific name is Ara Chloroptera which means ara for strong, chloro for green and ptera for wing. It name speak for it self but actually there wing have a striking blend of red with green and blue stripes. They were often confused with other macaws but still it has its own uniqueness. A patch that is transverse with red feather which looks like Indian war paint.
Is it ideal for us to take green wing macaw as a pet in our home? Yes, but it will be difficult because what I’ve said earlier it is a giant bird so it needed a large cage. Green wing macaw measures about 26-36 inches so it is approximately 2 ½ to 3 feet and weighs 1250-1700g or 1.25-1.7kg. When choosing a cage for them for me I think stainless cage would be better than the powder coated. The powder coating may not last under the green wing macaw’s beak and may be the powder coating might poison them and might cause harm. Green wing macaw is bought nowadays to be a pet. They interact socially with people and other macaws even though they don’t speak much. A lot of people were funned of them but some misinterpret their appearance because it is some kind of a majestic. They fail to appreciate the extreme intelligent nature of the beautiful macaw.
It has been slow to breed in captivity from wild caught stock. It eventually improved with captive bred bird serves as the breeder. Their reproductive maturity is 4-5 years. Their life span is quit long it will last for about 60-80 years and even greater. So you will be buddy forever, and you will grow up together.

Why did the United States support extreme right wing dictators during the Cold War?
First, we were following the philosophy of “my enemy’s enemy is my friend.” The world was (from our perspective) divided into pro and anti-communist forces. So we took on anyone who would side with us. As a result, we sometimes ended up with some bad bedmates.
Second, dividing the world into “right-wing” and “left-wing” just doesn’t work very well. For instance, the implication is that “right wing” is a free market economy (while left-wing is socialist). But China offers a much more free-market economy than most countries (they’re all about production). Would you argue that the National Socialist Party (ie: the Nazi’s) were right ring or left wing? You had some countries (like Ethiopia, Angola, Eritrea) that would switch alliance from one country to the other (think of when Sadat kicked the Russians out of Egypt). For instance, Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe isn’t left wing or right wing, he’s just a dictator, muddling his way through trying to maintain power anyway he can. He replaced a right-wing dictatorship and took land away from white landowners (signs of a left-wing dictatorship) but has abolished most forms of unions (signs of a right-wing dictatorship). In Nicaragua, we supported Eden Pastora (Commandante Cero) who had been a former Sandinista and rejected the government because he felt that in part they were too free market (does that make him left wing) but also supported Bermudez, Calero and the others (who had strong ties to the Somoza regime which makes them right wing).
Ultimately we (Russians and US) saw the third world countries as the battleground for the Cold War. The risk was too great to have US and Russian troops face off. So instead, in places like Angola, we had proxies. Both sides armed resistance movements. We sided with Jonas Savimbi of UNITA who would initially would have been regarded as “right wing” but when a coalition government was formed and Savimbi continued to fight, he became “left wing” (by advocating national ownership of oil rights the govt had sublet out to Exxon and Royal Dutch Shell). Angola is a fascinating example–at one point you had Cuban troops fighting there (not officially of course) against South African troops (again, not officially) supported in various ways by the Russians and USA unofficially while the CIA and various mercenaries played a role as well. But officially there were no US or Russian troops or advisors in the fighting.
By the way, it’s still going on. Our record in places like Uzbekistan is shameful. It’s in the name of fighting terrorism and we want base rights–places to quickly deploy troops or special ops units for counter-terrorism actions. I understand the rationale but it makes our argument about promoting democracy in the moslem world a sham.
