Old 1950′s Toy — simple type construction toy but not Tinker Toys?
This is a toy that was more rare than the super popular issues of this time period. This toy functioned similar in some respects to Lincoln Logs and was probably made of wood but instead of having rectangular notches where you’d hook the pieces together it was like much more delicate pieces (Bigger than toothpicks but much more fragile than Lincoln Logs) formed on a lathe and brightly colored. The ends were thicker with indentations where these pieces would hook together. Lathing would be the only action needed to get the shape of these “sticks” (if I remember correctly). There were longer and shorter pieces. Do you remember anything like this? What was the toy called?

Toy Train Collection
People who collect toy trains have a genuine passion for them. Some individuals prefer to only display them a single time of year approximately the family unit Christmas tree, while others dedicate whole rooms or sections of their houses to showing off their collection. The distinctive toy train set was just as astonishing inside as it was outside. (As most Marklin educate sets are, not surprising there!) The station included five interior rooms that were cleverly adorned with tables, chairs, and different furniture you would expect to come across aboard passenger cars from back from the day. It was originally thought that this rare Marklin station would sell for around $30,000; that’s, until it became the eventual “”bidding brawl”" between American and Europe. Two toy educate collectors from opposite ends from the world both went to excellent lengths to snag the priceless item, but ultimately The States prevailed in taking residence the 29-inch extended, 19-inch high beauty.
That wasn’t the only Marklin item that introduced a lot extra income than originally estimated. A Marklin #2609 locomotive was sold for $82,500. The gauge III arranged boasted a live steam engine and precise hand-painted detail. The original sale estimate was established at $25,000 – plainly, this goal was blown away when avid collectors from internationally united in hopes of bringing home a classic Marklin station. A number of other Marklin items were sold at the auction, but surprisingly not a single Marklin piece sold for less than $25,000.
Now that you can see just how valuable these timeless classics are, the chances are you will not see them for cheap. Ebay does often times place Marklin pieces up for bidding, but the results won’t differ a great deal from a live auction. You can buy certain Marklin sets and add-ons through marklin.com, but again, you will pay a pretty penny.
