Why didn’t the Tea Party people start their movement during the Bush years when he was passing huge deficits?
Why the sudden hatred for big government and high deficits now that Obama is in office? Bush doubled the size of the government and ran up unsustainable deficits, so why didn’t these Tea Party people organize back then?
Something’s not adding up. If these Tea Party people have so much hatred for big government and big budgets then it would have made sense for them to oppose Bush during his administration, right? Again, something isn’t adding up here……
He was white. One crazy lady said it best at a town hall meeting last year. She said she never cared about politics before, but (and this will be the line you’ll remember) you’ve awoken a sleeping giant. What woke her up exactly? government spending? If that were the case she would have woken up years ago. The wars? She slept through most of that. It was the election of a black president that rang her alarm clock. The same thing that woke up all those sleeping giants. Don’t let them tell you they were inspired by Ron Paul ether. during the Bush years they thought he was batshit crazy. What did he get? About 3% of the vote? I don’t remember, but he was never considered a contender.

Tea Time Anyone? Boston Tea Party or Afternoon Tea Party Which One are You Searching For?
Searching for tea? Before the political tea parties today fashioned themselves after the Boston Tea Party in 1773, when you typed tea party in your search engine you would find sites featuring tea hats, finger sandwich recipes, tea recipes and theme suggestions. Now a-days when you put in the same search you are inundated with political tea party information.
We thought we had come a long way from those pre-Revolutionary days, but apparently not. Now when tea party is mentioned people think of political unrest, which is a far cry from the Afternoon Tea Time. This is a time for relaxation, enjoying light chatter while sipping soothing delicious tea. It’s when you take a break from the mayhem of the day to stop and enjoy things around you. I’ll tell you later how to avoid some of the non-relevant web pages in your search. Why the big change?
The Boston Tea Party in 1773 was a protest against the British government for unduly taxing the American settlers tea, which was imported through the Boston Harbor. Since this was the drink of choice and the only way to come by tea was importing, the settlers became rather agitated and staged a protest. Dressing up as Native Americans the settlers snuck on board the docked ships and proceeded to unload them of their precious cargo, filling the harbor with stout, although unsteeped, tea. Our country is going through some similar issues today. It’s great to see so many individuals taking a stand and actively letting the government hear their concerns. It does make for lively conversation, but what about those of us who just want to find a good cup of tea?
So how can you search for tea and tea items without wading through the political jargon of today? George Jage, World Tea Expo president, suggests using the command “tea minus party”. This will alleviate some, although probably not all, of the political tea party sites. Another way is to be more specific in your search. If you are looking for tea, search for specific types such as black tea, oolong tea, loose leaf tea, herbal infused tea, just to mention a few. For other items such as tea accessories be very specific for instance, tea infuser, mesh tea ball, or universal infuser. This is only a few, but you get the idea. Being more specific will also help alleviate non relevant web pages.

What is the best way to market my tea party hats?
I have been making and selling tea party hats on eBay and through my website, www.teapartytreasures.com. I also sell tea party hat making kits for children and adults to make their own hat with all of the supplies included.

If you make hats, you might want to concentrate on just that. I noticed that you sell tea party supplies, etc. It costs you money to purchase them and keep them on hand where as the hats you can make on-demand. Also if you branch out from such a single theme you will reach a wider potential buying audience. Also, if you did this it would necessitate a name & domain change to reflect the hats only theme.
You can make hats with themes. (Birthday–have a mini cake on it, etc., Red Hat Group–Go for flowers, etc. in their theme, Bridal Shower, Retirement, Baby Shower, etc.). That way people who might not have a tea party but rather a celebration which they may want to purchase a single hat for the birthday girl or bride to be, etc. It would still keep you in the hat making area, but would give you a wider range of products.
Also, look into a product to color your basic hats before decorating them. That way you can still purchase the plain hats at a lower cost, but be able to offer a range of colors. Make sure whatever dye/color agent you use is colorfast and will not run if it gets wet.
You can write to “how to” sites that put up links to places where you can purchase supplies. (Then go to birthday, tea party, etc. whichever ones fit your hat themes.) You can continue to sell on ebay or try a handmade craft selling site like http://www.etsy.com. Or you can opt for putting up a shopping cart on your own site to help reduce costs. Blogs are really big. If you keep one and write about creating the hats and then showing photos of them in action, etc. you may attract buyers that way.
