I wanted to know if I could rebuild my 5.7/350 in my 2000 Cadillac Escalade? The kit is from Summit Racing.?
I was wondering what all should be in the rebuild kit for me to rebuild the engine that’s in the truck?
Mate you can re-build if you like but as the others have said, without the tools and the experience (not saying you dont have any) you may be causing yourself more heartache.
For example, an engine as old as the one you are re-building will more than likely need a re-bore rather than just a cylinder hone, without a machine shop you wont be able to do it unless you send the block off for machine work.
Could buy a reconditioned one warranty but the choice is entirely up to you – the kit should have all you need, bearings rings etc.
