If you are talking about tail rotor failure, you cut the throttle, which stops the rotation of the machine and enter an auto-rotation.
A run-on landing is usually reserved for a hydraulic failure.
If you try a run-on landing without a T/R the vertical fin will keep you flying straight while you have enough airspeed to give the tail fin authority but as you loose the airspeed….round and round you go
