Stupid question but, where can i find a Wincester model 12 NIB, or in great condition for a decent price?
Is there such thing? I know they don’t make them anymore, but they are well made shotguns, and i’m searching for one. NIB if possiable, or great condition. I wonder what the model 12 looked like brand new, do you guy’s ever wonder? It must look real beautiful.
Sarge, i’am a gunsmith, though have no bluing equipment, one of these days though. I know the gun from inside and out. Of course i can repair it, depending on the problem. There are certain things however that it can not be fixed, don’t feel like getting into detail really. Reason why i ask this question is cause nothing feels better than having a firearm in great condition to begin with. Other than people not taking good care of there firearms, leaving major rust with real deep pittings, or threads are rip to shit, all because of people’s screw ups or not taking care of it well enough. (deep pittings and ripped off to broken threads cannot be fixed)
Forgot to mention, parts for the model 12 is scarce also.
You can find plenty of Model 12′s in great condition, and you can occasionally find one As NIB.
You WILL dig real deep in your wallet to buy either.
But it depends on what you call a good price. If you think $800 – 1500.00 is a good price, you are in luck.
Model 12′s have been bringing high prices for a long while now.

What’s a good fountain pen to get?
I need help deciding. I like fine nibs and I don’t want to spend too much. I’ll be using it primarily for my writing (I’m a writer) and I’ll be taking it with me while I travel.
I’ve never owned a fountain pen before so this will be my first one.
I don’t like excessively flashy pens that suggest an overcompensation for other… short comings (if you get my meaning)
But I’d like something edgy and sexy (I’m 23 so anything that looks like something my grandfather would use is right out) also.
Price is an issue too. I don’t want to spend too much for my first one but I don’t want to go cheap and settle for some miserable throwaway either. Around 100-150 dollars perhaps?
Finally, I’m living currently in the Philippines so if you could suggest the make and model as well as where I may purchase it I’d be much obliged.

Because you are 23 and haven’t used any fountain pen so far you will probably press your pen too hard, at the beginning. That could damage your nib fast, so you have to be careful. My advice is: 1. pick a pen with rigid nib (stay away from flexible nibs). 2. Pick stainless steel nib (rather than golden one) for the same reason. SS is much stronger and harder. 3. Don’t spend too much for the first pen. You shouldn’t exceed $50 at the beginning and in 1-2 year plan buying the next one more refined.
I would start with Parker Frontier, stainless steel gold trim (made in UK) $25-30 + shipping on e-bay. The next one is more elegant Parker Sonnet, stainless steel gold trim (made in France) $50-100 + shipping on e-bay (by from “power sellers” only). Q-ink Cartridges are readily available in various colors. In few years you may want to purchase nice Pelican or Mont Blanc up to $500 with platinum nib on 18k gold tip.
