Your Laptop works best from 50° to 95°F. You should store them in places with temperatures of -13° to 113°. That’s 10° to 35°C and -25° to 45°, for the metrically inclined. Keeping your Mac as near room temperature as possible (22°C) is ideal.

If you don’t plan on using your Laptop for more than six months, We recommends that you store the battery with a 50% charge. If you store a battery when it’s fully discharged, it could fall into a deep discharge state, which renders it incapable of holding any charge. Conversely, if you store it fully charged for an extended period of time, the battery may experience some loss of battery capacity, meaning it will have a shorter life. Be sure to store your Laptop and battery at the proper temperature. (See “Laptop Temperate Zone.”)

You can choose to use your Laptop in a way that maximizes its battery life.
Energy: The Energy Saver control panel offers several settings that determine power levels for your Laptop. Your portable knows when it’s plugged in, and runs accordingly. When on battery power, it will dim the screen and use other components sparingly. If you change this setting to maximize performance, your battery will drain more quickly.
Brightness: Dim the screen to the lowest comfortable level to achieve maximum battery life. For instance, when watching a DVD on a train, you may not need full brightness if all the lights are off.
Wifi Wireless: Wifi consumes power, even if you are not using its features to connect to a network. You can turn it off in its control panel to save dell latitude d820 battery power.
Bluetooth Wireless: Likewise, you can turn off Bluetooth to maximize your battery life, as it also consumes power when not in use.
Applications and peripherals: Disconnect peripherals and quit applications not in use. Eject CDs and DVDs if not currently accessing them.

When using a laptop as a desktop replacement the battery should not be left in for long periods of time. The laptop will over time discharge the battery. Remove the battery – making sure that it is charged to 40% and store it in a dry, warm place. Ensure that it is wrapped protectively and nothing will be dropped on it.
The battery should be re-installed every 3-4 weeks and allowed to fully discharge. Leaving a battery in storage for longer than this without using could cause the battery to fully discharge as the circuitry of the battery itself consumes power.
Leaving a battery in a laptop while using an electrical outlet for long periods of time will keep the battery in a constant state of charging up and that will reduce the life cycle of the battery.
Remember that when you have removed the battery from a laptop while using with an electrical outlet – the automatic casio np-40 battery backup is no longer functional. Make sure to plug your laptop into an uninterrupted power source (UPS) not directly into an outlet or surge protector.

Train samsung gravity battery?
So I just got my Samsung gravity and the battery dies REALLY quickly. I heard something that you can train ur battery? You let it die all the way then u charge it? Im thinking about doing this but first I need to know,
1. How do you train the battery

What they mean by train is that batteries have a memory sometimes, if you charge it before the battery is fully depleted then it thinks that where you started the charge is where is is dead. So to train it or to correct this you let the battery wear all the way down, till you cannot turn it on any more then you charge it untilit is full. Then you should be set. Batteries will deplete quickly if you are using internet and other features, so this could be the issue. If the battery give you too much more trouble. Call your service provider and ask for warranty exchange on the battery. If you just got it new it should be under a year of warranty.
